Detailed Specs
Static rollover
The static rollover is used to check the test vehicle for leaking fluids from the battery or fuel tank after the crash and to document the amount. The overall structure of the rollover is based on the legal regulations, but leaves a lot of room for customer-specific features. The test bed is mounted on wheels, but can be fixed and aligned for operation. The alignment is done by means of an integrated spirit level. The system can be freely programmed by means of the control panel. Continuous movement in both directions is possible with an individual rotational speed. The test vehicle is fixed in place with an integrated quick-release mechanism, ensuring occupational safety throughout the entire test. For user-friendly insertion of the test vehicle, the pick-up platform is height-adjustable.
FMVSS 208 Rollover
The rollover platform is used to conduct lateral rollovers, according to test regulation FMVSS 208. With the pivoting platform the vehicle can be easily set up and brought into the proper drop position. The basic frame has a modular construction and can thus be adjusted to the various deceleration systems. This makes it possible to continue using an existing deceleration system. Due to its large tires, the tripper carriage can be employed on a large variety of surface conditions. The adjustments to the existing propulsion system occur according to customer specifications.
Embankment rollover
The overall design of the embankment rollover is completely based on the needs of customers as well as the potential of the current test situation on site. ERNST experienced test engineers, together with the customer, analyse the possibilities and make a customised recommendation. A special thick layer is used for the ramp surface, which enables a coefficient of friction of 0.9. Due to the modular design, the entire system can be set up and prepared for testing by just two people in under four hours. A wide variety of adjustable embankment elements allow an adjustable range of 30-55 degrees in 2.5 degree increments, so that even very low sports cars can be stimulated to roll over. The test vehicle can be moved into the startup slide in a user-friendly manner by means of the electric height adjustment and then brought to the test height.
